Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN) and the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) and are excited to announce the launch of Camp Girl Power, a new, free, joy-filled experience designed to spark creativity, confidence, and connection in rising 3rd–5th grade girls across Walton County.

Two half-day camps will take place this August:

  • Tuesday, August 5 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in South Walton at the Bay School (118 Gilmore Rd.)

  • Wednesday, August 6 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in DeFuniak Springs at the Walton County Fairgrounds (790 N. 9th Street)

Each camp is packed with empowering activities, including yoga, hands-on art projects, music, and wellness experiences—all designed to help young girls build confidence, make new friends, and celebrate the power of being themselves.

The camps are free to attend, but space is limited. Advanced registration is strongly encouraged.

“We are proud to pilot the first ‘GIRL PWR’ Half-Day Camps in collaboration with the Cultural Arts Alliance,” said Megan Trent, Executive Director of Children’s Volunteer Health Network. “Both teams are excited to introduce an event that uplifts and empowers the girls of Walton County – nurturing not only their physical health, but their confidence, creativity, and connection to community. Our goal is to create a joyful, supportive space where every girl feels celebrated and inspired to grow into her strongest, happiest self.”

"Camp ‘GIRL PWR’ is a brand new initiative that blends creativity, wellness, and self-expression into one unforgettable experience," said Jennifer Steele, CAA President & CEO. "As part of our mission to foster the inclusive and collaborative advancement of the Arts in Walton County, the CAA continues to explore partnerships with mission-aligned nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Working with CVHN on this joint initiative allows us to combine our strengths and amplify the impact of the Arts, addressing societal challenges and enriching lives. Whether it's through community engagement, or innovative arts-based programs, we are dedicated to shaping a future where the Arts serve as a bridge to real-world impact."

This program is the result of a creative collaboration between the Cultural Arts Alliance and Children’s Volunteer Health Network, with generous support from the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation’s Galentines Fundraiser, The St. Joe Community Foundation, and Walmart. Additional support is provided by 30A Company, Beach Happy Cafe, Detailed Creative, Eglin Federal Credit Union, Fishers Flowers & Events, Studio 30A, and Sweet Henrietta’s.
