The Made in Walton County – Songwriters Showdown, presented by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA), is back—and submissions are now open for local songwriters ready to take the spotlight.
This exciting live showcase celebrates homegrown talent, original music, and the stories behind the songs. Songwriters of all genres are encouraged to apply for the opportunity to perform, connect with an engaged audience, and compete for cash prizes—plus a guaranteed spot in the 2027 30A Songwriters Festival lineup.
From submissions received by the deadline on Friday, February 20, 2026, up to ten finalists will be selected to perform live on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at The Pavilion at Watersound® Town Center. Finalists will each have up to 10 minutes on stage to share their original songs and storytelling in front of a live audience and judges.
A Look Back: Last Year’s Inaugural Showdown
The inaugural Songwriters Showdown was an unforgettable evening of raw talent and heartfelt performances. Finalists included Sammi Accola, Emily Bass, Gage Cowart, Marc Harris, Nate Kelly, Tom Pritchett, and Nathan Worthey, with Sammi Accola ultimately taking home the top honor.

The event was hosted by 30A Songwriters Festival favorite Wyatt Espalin and featured an esteemed panel of judges—Jessica Sharman, Gretchen Peters, and Jennifer Steele—who brought deep industry insight and thoughtful feedback to the competition. The night culminated in the announcement of first-, second-, and third-place winners, along with a People’s Choice Award, voted on by the audience.
