CAA Awards $38,000 in Art For All Grants To Support Walton County Arts Education

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is proud to announce that over $38,500 in Art For All grant funding has been awarded to support arts education and creative projects benefiting more than 800 K-12 students across Walton County. In its ongoing mission to foster creativity, the CAA has granted more than $923,500 to teachers, students, artists and arts organizations over the years.  

This fiscal year’s round of funding includes 35 arts education grants, formerly known as teacher mini grants, to educators representing 13 area schools including: Bay School, Dune Lakes Elementary School, Freeport Elementary School, Freeport High School, Freeport Learning Center, Paxton School, Seacoast Collegiate High School, Seaside Neighborhood School, South Walton Academy, The Nature School,  The WISE Magnet School, Van R. Butler Elementary School, and West DeFuniak Elementary School. These grants are designed to enhance visual, literary, and performing arts experiences for K-12 students in public, private (501c3), and homeschool environments. Funding supports materials, guest artists, field trips, and other arts-focused enrichment opportunities initiated by educators.

Westwood Ranch students created pieces for an exhibition hosted at the Freeport Library throughout the summer.

In addition to the arts education grants, professional education grants were awarded to local musician Sammi Accola and visual artist Stacy Martin. for continuing education to advance their  work, and three non-profit organizations, Friend of Eden State Garden, Point Washington Medical Clinic and Westonwood Ranch, were awarded grants to support youth arts programming and outreach.

During the 38th Annual ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival, nine award winners were named in the Student Art Exhibit. Winners represented  five different Walton county schools including Freeport High School, South Walton High School, Freeport Middle School, Freeport Elementary and Dune Lakes Elementary.
