Gisselle Barnhart

My glassing career began apprenticing with a local artist where I learned to meld “Old World” stained and leaded glass techniques, then venturing into new generation warm glass and fused glass mosaics. As I continue through my journey of playing with glass, I find myself combining different techniques that I’ve learned along the way resulting in a distinctive style to my pieces. My artwork is influenced by the stunning beauty of the area which provides endless inspiration on beach and coastal lake scenes, nature andM wildlife, and recreating them in an abstract fused glass and fused glass mosaic designs. Much of my glass art is displayed set in custom metal frames or uniquely carved into pecky cypress wood which is indigenous to the area.

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have a creative soul that seeks expression through a variety of artistic outlets. First and foremost is being surrounded by creativity and inspiration at The Blue Giraffe, my family-owned art gallery. After 14+ years of helping professional artists share their work with the world, I have finally carved out time to pursue my own artwork. I love using a mixture of techniques and materials to create happy, colorful art.

Artwork is on display and available for pick up at Emerald Coast Theatre Company at 560 Grand Boulevard, Ste. 200, upstairs. If shipping is requested, arrangements will be made with the artist and incurred costs will be paid by the purchaser in a separate transaction. Please have your receipt ready to show for pick up.
