Intro to Hand-Building Intensive Series with Courtney Krempa

This 5-week hand-building intensive offers a small, supportive environment for exploring the fundamentals of working with clay. Across four extended 4-hour instructional sessions, participants will learn the core techniques of hand-building—pinch pots, slab construction, and coil building—along with an introductory overview of glazing.

Throughout the course, students will complete 8–10 finished ceramic pieces while building the skills and confidence to work independently at home, fire work at the Bayou Arts Center, or continue their practice through the Art Center’s Open Studio or Come Play with Clay programs.

This course is open to students 18 and up.
