About the event
Step into the world of blue using an organic indigo vat prepared by instructor Sydni Gause. In this workshop, we will learn how to tie and bundle 25x25" crepe silk scarves using a Japanese resist technique called shibori. We will then dip our bundles into the indigo vat, transforming the white fabric into beautiful shades of blue. Participants will have the opportunity to deepen the color of their cloth through multiple dips, while also learning about the intricacies of maintaining an indigo vat. Once the desired shade is achieved, we will unbundle our silks to reveal the dynamic patterns created through shibori.
