Emily Ellis

AQUATIC NEUROTIC - Artist / Photographer / Naturalist / Activist EMILY ELLIS (aka DAISY HIPBILLY) is an award-winning Painter and Photographer. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Auburn University, a Master of Fine Arts from the University of South Florida and is a graduate of the Florida Master Naturalist Program, University of Florida.
“My foremost inspiration has always been the NATURAL WORLD. There are parts and pieces within the abstract, yet it’s the experience that I aim to record in the strokes. Mark-making. Whether in a painting, a photo or other mixed-media, WATER continually surfaces as a vital element in my work. And life. And dreams. Texture gives me the ‘feels’ and I’m a stickler for good composition.” Emily Ellis was named “Conservationist of the Year” 2020 by the Bay County Audubon Society and is a past recipient of the “Citizen Activism Award” presented by the Florida Lake Management Society. She is a Co-Founder of the Lake Powell Community Alliance.
Emily is a 30 year resident of Inlet Beach and was a member of the original Inlet Beach Artist Gallery. She won Best of Show at the 1994 Grayton Beach Fine Arts Festival (now known as ArtsQuest). She is a long-time member of the Cultural Arts Alliance and an Official Photographer for the annual 30A Songwriters Festival.
She offers studio visits by appointment at Dsire tu Nspire Studio. Email her at: EmilyFrancesEllis.Art@gmail.com On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/daisy.hipbilly
