Marc Harris
Marc Harris grew up in Nashville and started playing clubs around town in High School which gave him a jump start to live performance. Robert K. Oermann a journalist at the Tennessean referred to Marc and his band mate Bob Watkins as “Pop Teen Heartthrobs”. Harris contends they were not Heartthrobs; they simply dressed loudly after all it was the early 80s. During college Marc traveled the southeast with a rock band on weekends. The band ‘Radio One’ went on to record an independent record with Brent Maher who produced The Judds and did showcases for A&M and Virgin records. After school Harris made the conscious decision to hit “The Road” with country artist Lee Roy Parnell (Arista), Stacy Dean Campbell (Columbia), John Berry (Capitol), Victoria Shaw (Warner Bros) and Thrasher Shiver (Asylum). With these artist Marc played the Grand Ole Opry, Fillmore West, Arenas opening for the biggest acts in Country music and performed on live network TV. In 1996 famed Director Steven Goldman handpicked Marc Harris to be in Shania Twain’s video “No One Needs to Know”. In the beginning of the video Shania, Marc and the band perform a clip of the song live. While working for John Berry who had a number 1 hit with “Your Love Amazes Me”, Harris had the opportunity to perform live on the CBS show, “The Road”. From This session the song “You and Only You” was used on CMT as the 1st ever official music video that was a live performance. Marc Harris now lives in Destin FL and plays consistently around the southeast and northwest Florida. Harris releases his record “Southern Surf” in 2025 which features his Rockabilly Rhythm & Blues sound that’s influenced by Classic Country and Surf Rock.
