About the Event
Join Jessica Batson as she teaches the basics of wheel throwing with clay, in a 4 course workshop. Two days of creating, a day with trimming decorating and finishing, and then a day of glazing. Students also receive 2 free open studio days during the class for independent practice hours. This course is meant to teach you the fundamentals of ceramics and wheel throwing- such as centering and pulling, creating mugs and bowls, and the final steps of glazing your bisque wear work. Beginners welcome and encouraged during this course of clay!
This class is available to ages 18 and up. No make-up days/classes are available for missed time.
Class dates: May 28 & 31 and June 4 & 11
Class time: 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Minimum Class Size: 3*
Maximum Class Size: 6
Age: 18+
*Please note if the class minimum is not met 48 hours in advance, the class will be canceled and registered students refunded.
Instructor Bio:
Jessica Batson has called Santa Rosa Beach home since 1984. The influence of living at the beach shows in her work. Raised in an artistic home she has worked in lots of different mediums but currently she focuses on pottery, batik and crochet. She teaches classes and workshops in wheel thrown pottery and batik regularly in Walton County.
