Hand-Build Clay Houses with Sherry Hall

In this two-day hand-building workshop, you’ll create charming clay houses that can be enjoyed year-round, displayed during the holidays, or even transformed into glowing luminaries. Using clay slabs, you’ll design and construct your own house forms with reusable templates, allowing you to make a variety of unique designs.

On the first day, we’ll focus on building: cutting out your house pieces, assembling the forms, and adding texture and surface details with stamps and other tools. On the second day, you’ll bring your creations to life through decoration—exploring underglaze techniques, carving, clay transfers, and selecting from glaze options.

Whether displayed as decorative sculptures or lit from within as cozy luminaries, these houses will be a delightful addition to your home or a special handmade gift.

The instructor will glaze and fire your pieces for you, and they’ll be ready for pickup two weeks after class.
