About the Event
Painting is always a learning experience and this class is suitable for a beginning adult who wants to feed her/his creativity or a practiced watercolor artist who wants to sharpen skills. Come find out what others have learned: “Art is the only way to run away without leaving home!” Treat yourself for three weeks in June on Tuesdays, 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm, and Thursdays, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, with classes taught by Theresia McInnis at the Cultural Arts Alliance.
Cost is $30/CAA members; $35/non-members.
During each three-hour class, artists will utilize a provided drawing and full color sample to complete a finished painting ready for framing. Subject matter and techniques will get progressively more involved yet be attainable, if you happen to miss a session. Click here for the class supply list. Consumable supplies for the day will also be offered before class at a per piece price. The non-consumable, loaner items will be available for use if you choose not to bring yours.
Instructions will include training in: transferring drawing to paper, planning & composition, paint to water ratio, Brush techniques, Painting value, color mixing, hard and soft edges, color wash, glazing, charging, masking and special effect techniques.
