Join Courtney as she teaches the fundamentals of wheel throwing with clay. This four session workshop aims to teach you the basics of the wheel- centering, pulling, trimming, decorating, and glazing. We will spend two days creating, one day trimming and decorating, and one day of glazing. In addition to the 4 lessons students receive two open studios to practice what is taught in the class at their own pace. This course is inclusive of 4 teacher lead lessons and two non-guided self paced practice sessions during our open studio hours. Beginners welcomed and encouraged! Make sure to wear comfy clothes & no jewelry, we will get messy.

Courtney is a mother and artist native to the emerald coast. She is a self taught ceramicist who began working with clay in 2013. First introduced in a college course, she quickly fell in love and has continued practicing since. What started as a quest to make her own set of dinnerware turned into a challenging yet exciting mediative practice for her. She originally started hand building but transitioned to wheel throwing shortly after. She now focuses on small batch, wheel thrown collections whenever she’s not surfing or spending time with her family.
