About the Event

Join us on Facebook Thursday, Nov. 18 at 12 p.m. for another virtual Art on Demand event brought to you by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) in partnership with Alys Beach, 30a.com and Florida Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture.

In this episode, meet local artist Kathleen Broaderick. You’ll be treated to a behind the scenes peek into her CHROMA studio and gallery, discover what inspires her, learn a little about her process and enjoy a painting demonstration.

Kathleen Broaderick is an artist based on the beautiful Emerald Coast of Florida. She started painting during her last semester at FSU when she filled an extra slot in her schedule with a watercolor class. She has been a student of art ever since. While living in England, Chicago and Stuart, FL she took art classes & workshops whenever she could.

After moving to the Emerald Coast in 2000, she was introduced to oil painting. During this time, Kathleen was an art volunteer at Plew Elementary for 10 years while her sons attended the school. She then became certified to teach art and elementary education and taught kindergarten and art at Edge Elementary in Niceville.

Now, a full-time artist, she wakes up early to paint or walk on the beach for inspiration. “If I am not painting I am cooking. My family and I love to eat.“

In the summer of 2017, Kathleen opened CHROMA studio and gallery on 30A, in Santa Rosa Beach. CHROMA allows Kathleen to combine her personal art studio and love of teaching in one place. She was named Visit South Walton’s Artist of the Year in 2018. For more information, visit chroma30a.com
