Patti Overholt

Originally trained as a portrait and figurative artist in St. Petersburg, Florida, I discovered a love for Plein Air Painting when I fell in love with North Florida while finishing by BA the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Fl.

In high school, although only blended realism was allowed in the Art Classes, I used to take the bus to the Museum of Fine Art in St. Petersburg, Florida to see the work of Claude Monet, Manet, Cezanne, and Renoir. So, when I won a trip to Paris in 1982 that included a side trip to Claude Monet's home in Giverny I was thrilled! On later trips to Paris I saw the paintings of most of the other Impressionists and that influence permeates all of my work from Portraits, Figures, Still Life, to Plein Air Paintings.

Having taught Art from Elementary to College level, I spent 12 years as an Adjunct Art Instructor for The Continuing Education program at Northwest Florida State College.

With 30 years teaching experience, I am currently offering Private Lessons, Small Group Lessons and Viewings in the relaxing environment of Studio de Relaxo, in Choctaw Beach near Niceville, Fl.
