Art Month South Walton

Art Month South Walton is an initiative of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County with the purpose to bring communities, organizations and businesses together to present quality arts and entertainment to the community. Spanning the month of May, Art Month will feature visual, performing, and literary arts programming in diverse formats and in various venues throughout South Walton.

2021 Art Month South Walton features events and programs presented in locations throughout Walton County, including the South Walton Street Art Festival, an online Art & More Auction benefiting the CAA, Digital Graffiti at Alys Beach, Arts Night in DeFuniak Springs, Music on Main, performances by the Emerald Coast Theatre Company, and more. 

 

We’re accepting applications through April 19 for those interested in participating in the Street Art Festival in three categories including: Artists, Friends and Family teams and School teams. Apply online today!

  • What is Art Month?
    Art Month is an initiative of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County with the purpose to bring neighborhoods, organizations and businesses together to present quality arts and entertainment to the community. Spanning the month of May, Art Month will feature visual, performing and literary arts programming in diverse formats and in various venues throughout Walton County.
  • Where does Art Month take place?
    Art Month events happen throughout Walton County. Events can take place in galleries, businesses, restaurants, outdoors, indoors, and in any traditional or non-traditional space – the sky’s the limit.
  • What events are included in Art Month?
    In its first year, Art Month included Under the Sea - a fundraiser event for the Underwater Water Museum of Art, ArtsQuest – a fine arts show in Grand Boulevard, Digital Graffiti – a projection art festival in Alys Beach, the Longleaf Writers Conference, and more! Our goal is to include all kinds of performing, visual and literary art events, workshops, exhibits, concerts and creative experiences!
  • How can my business or I be included in Art Month?
    Interested organizations and individuals can submit an event to be included in Art Month. Submissions are accepted year-round, but must be received by the submission deadline each year to be included in the current year’s Art Month.
  • Where should I stay while attending Art Month?
    Most events have their own lodging partners who usually offer special discounts to those coming into town for Art Month events.
  • How can an artist or organization can be involved?
    Workshops or classes in gallery or studio Behind the scenes sneak-peak during creation process (painting, theatre, music) Literary readings Talks, tours, panels to discuss creative topics of any kind Film showings Multi-day festivals, events, conferences Public art installation Be creative and come up with a unique idea! We are happy to brainstorm with you!
  • Is there a fee to be included? What are my obligations?
    There is a nominal fee to be included on the official AMSW event calendar and marketing collateral. We do require that you include the Art Month logo on your event collateral (posters, brochures, postcards, print ads). Logos and brand standards will be supplied to you.
  • What benefit is there for my event to be a part of Art Month?
    Your event will be promoted on the Cultural Arts Alliance website and in social media campaigns. Additionally, Art Month will be marketed locally, regionally and nationally through digital, print and radio campaigns. You will also be a part of this special community-wide arts initiative.
  • How do I attend an Art Month event? Is there a cost?
    Some events are free and some are ticketed. Visit each event’s listing on our website for complete details.
  • What if I have more questions?

South Walton’s 16 unique beach neighborhoods, which are home to many AMSW events, are located on the northwest gulf coast of Florida between Destin and Panama City, and 25 miles south of I-10 along Emerald Coast Parkway. Major corridors in close proximity to South Walton include: I-65, I-55, I-10 and US Hwy 331. South Walton is bordered on the east by Inlet Beach and on the west by Seascape. Getting here is easy.

AMSW Flag Sponsor

Be a part of the fun and support this community-wide arts initiative by becoming an Art Week South Walton flag sponsor. The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County has created beautiful, colorful flags that will fly around South Walton from May 7th until May 21st. For a tax-deductible $100 contribution, the CAA will place a 3’ x 5’, double sided flag bearing the Art Week logo in front of your business, which will show your support of the arts in South Walton AND you’ll receive a 50% discount off the published ad rate for the printed Art Month South Walton program.

AMSW Official Online Calendar Event

Galleries, boutiques, bars and restaurants can support this community-wide arts initiative by submitting an event to our official online calendar. Art Month South Walton offers the ideal opportunity for locals and visitors to get an inside look at the diverse and thriving cultural offerings throughout South Walton. Complete the online application by clicking “Submit My Event”. The official online calendar event inclusion fee is $250 for an individual business event and $800 for four or more businesses producing a single, collective event. The fee includes a calendar listing on the Cultural Arts Alliance website, an Art Month South Walton flag placed at your business, 50% off the published ad rate for the printed Art Month South Walton program, as well as promotion via Cultural Arts Alliance social platforms.

ArtsQuest Food Vendor

Food vendors interested in securing a space for the 2020 ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival can be prepared to email images of food truck (or booth), high resolution vendor logo, and type of power plug to info@culturalartsalliance.com. Include organization name in the email subject line. Applications accepted through April 3, 2020. The cost is $350 for a 10 x 10 space. Hours for load-in: Sat 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. Operating Hours: Sat: 10 a.m. –  7 p.m. and Sun: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
